Till We Reach The Higher Ground

Earlier tonight, I went out to dinner and heard
"Higher Ground" by Stevie Wonder playing on Touch Tunes.
...and it hit me like a ton of bricks.
I thought to myself
"this is just as relevant now as it was back in the 70's when "Higher Ground" first came out.
Not only is this song full of soul, it has a great message.
Keep on loving
Keep on learning
Keep on moving
Keep informed
Amidst the chaos,
keep on reaching for higher ground
Through Art
Through Writing
Through Music
Through peaceful protesting
Through Petitions
Through Empathy
Through Advocacy
...Most of all, respect for both sides of the perverbial fence.
Current events have certainly got me thinking about how we could all reach a higher ground despite what's been going on.
