winds of change

"You got your life planned carefully But you left out one detail The hidden hand deals just one round And the winds of change prevail"

~ "The Winds of Change" by Jefferson Starship

You think you may have your life all in order and then "poof" one day you get sick, lose a job or relationship.

Take it from me, as someone who had lost all three at the same time several years ago, even losing just one of these things was devastating. I lost everything. This was a huge loss for me.

Below, I will share with you what helped me not only get out of a bad situation, but turn things around for the better.

I got a crash course with navigating the winds of change and I want to share what helped me through this turbulent, fast change that hit me like a hurricane.

After a long period of grieving and listening to the "why me's?' that kept bombarding my psyche, I suddenly realized one day that these things all happened for a reason.

~ John Lennon

I used to live and work on Long Island, New York but I had just got a diagnosis of MS and cancer, not to mention a hypothryoid as well as pre-diabetes and I abruptly had to leave my job of almost 18 years at the Postal service.

I had to adjust to staying at home.

I physically couldn't do all that much so I started to write poems and blog posts.

The writing continued with songs and finally, books.

It was through this process of being sick, alone and broke that pushed me to write.

I am thankful for this process because it sent me on a new course in life - being a writer.

Here's a few things that helped me along the way:

Keeping my eye on the prize no matter what happened to me.

Feeling my true feelings and then letting them go through forgiveness.

Using creative responsibility, meaning channeling all my thoughts and feelings into positive projects like writing, music and art.

Keeping a positive mental attitude.

Hope, faith and belief that everything happens FOR you and NOT against you

to change your life's course for the better.

Praying (petitioning) God for help

Using powerful Violet Flame Decrees for transmuting the negatives in your life to positive transformation.

Meditating to receive answers

Learning about mind, body and spirit energy healing such as reiki

and learning about our 7 power centers (Chakras)

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) helped me release old traumas from my body and psyche.

Expecting great things to happen every day.

Being mindful of thoughts, feelings and emotions as they do become things.

Being grateful.

It is my hope that you navigate the winds of change with grace and ease, the transitions in your life that may not seem like good things will ultimately lead you to just the right people, places and situations that will change your life for the better.

Much Love,

Rev. Sue
